  Patricia Kringas, RN, BSN, MA, CDE
Research Coordinator & Certified Diabetes Educator

Patricia Kringas brings twenty three years of research experience to the Center. Patricia assists patients to meet the rigor and pace of various experimental protocols. The research process requires precision and attention to details not only by staff but also by the patients recording information as dictated by protocols. The major trials she has been involved with are focusing on adults with Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease,(ACCORD, DREAM,ORIGIN studies) and  treatments for adolescents and young adults with type 2 diabetes (TODAY Study and The TODAY Genetics study).  Studies currently in process are in the area of osteoclasts development and diabetes, visualization of Beta cells by PET scanning and non-invasive measures of beta cell mass.

Patricia received her BSN degree in Nursing from Mount St. Mary College and her Master's degree in Nursing Education from New York University. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator and chairs the diabetes education group at the Berrie Center.
