Covid-19 vaccine distribution and administration is continuing to progress. We are awaiting clarification from New York State regarding when patients with diabetes will be eligible to receive the vaccine. The CDC recommends that people with diabetes be vaccinated during Phase 1c of vaccine allocation.
The Covid-19 vaccine is only approved for children over the age of 18 years for the Moderna vaccine, and over the age of 16 years for the Pfizer vaccine.
Continue to follow your state’s updates for when Phase 1c vaccinations will commence.
You will need to register in the state in which you live to receive the Covid-19 vaccine, and arrange to have the vaccine administered at a site in your locality.
If required, the Berrie Center will provide you with a letter confirming your diagnosis for use when registering.
The Berrie Center will not be administering the Covid-19 vaccine.
